The Acting Head of Joy Sports, Ernest Koranteng, has been adjudged the most Innovative Worker of Joy FM for the third quarter of the year.

Mr Koranteng introduced the Joy Sports Invitational Tournament which management says had a great impact on the Multimedia Group's business in the quarter.

The tournament was an action-packed competition of football for the men and spot-kicks for women held for top organizations in the country, including MTN, Multi-Choice, Ecobank, Charter House, Stanbic, and Interplast.

Presenting the award, General Manager of Joy FM, Mr. Ekyi Quarm said the company instituted the package to “reward the innovation that created the greatest impact on the business.”

Mr Quarm, who also manages Hitz FM in Accra, expressed the hope that other members of staff would be motivated by the set example to contribute more ideas to improve the group.

In a brief speech to his colleagues, Mr Koranteng dedicated the award to his team members who he described as hardworking and resilient in their pursuit of excellence on the desk.

Joy FM News Editor, Matilda Asante Asiedu, hailed the feat chalked by the Sports desk, adding that the unit indeed deserved the award.

The desk has, in recent times, reorganized its shows into a more interactive pack of news and interviews which its audience seem to have received with delight.

The latest in the pack of programmes the desk has unveiled is Sporting Life, a light-hearted show which discusses the other side of sports – what sportsmen do when they are not on the turf.

Joy Sports has also added to its list of programmes the Pub Series, hosted from various pubs around the city.
