The Ghana Education Service (GES), has modified the Computer Selection Placement System (CSSPS) into the Senior High Schools (SHS), to streamline the admission of students.

The new arrangement would facilitate the placement of applicants with aggregates 6-30 through the Regional Coordinators of the CSSPS at any school of their choice.

Mr Samuel Appiah, Eastern Regional Coordinator of the CSSPS told the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua, that candidates, their parents or guardians could contact the heads of the various SHS to negotiate for admission.

The GES had estimated that more than 20,000 candidates, who qualified for admission this academic year, were not captured by the CSSPS computer software.

Mr Samuel Appiah, said the modification was a directive from the Director General of the GES, Mr Samuel Bannerman.

He said in the Region more than 1,600 candidates who qualified for admission were not placed and advised all affected applicants to contact the regional office of the GES for assistance.

In view of the cumbersome nature of the arrangement, the directive urged all parents to accept any placement suggested by the regional coordinators, to ensure that their wards got admission to continue their education.

Mr Bannerman asked the regional coordinators to exercise discretion in handling the placement adjustment efforts.
