Ghanaians have been urged to assess the performance of political parties or their traditions that had ruled Ghana and vote for the one that had outstandingly promoted participatory democracy.

Mr. Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi, Member of Parliament (MP), for Nkoranza South, made the call at a New Patriotic Party (NPP), rally at Donkro-Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He mentioned the Convention People’s Party (CPP) of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Progress Party (PP) of the late Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia, the People’s National Party (PNP) of the late Dr. Hilla Limann, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of former President Jerry John Rawlings and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) under President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Mr. Amporfo-Twumasi said “The New Patriotic Party government has the welfare of the people at heart”, and urged Ghanaians to retain the party in power on December 7 to enable it to continue with its good works.

He asked the electorate in Nkoranza North and South constituencies to appreciate the development brought to the areas by President Kufour and vote for the NPP.

He “The tarring of the Nkoranza-Ejura and Nkoranza-Donkro Nkwanta-Aframso roads as well as the creation of Nkoranza North District should remind us of the good things that the NPP government has done for Nkoranza and reward it with massive votes to retain it in power”.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi advised NPP youth to comport themselves well on the elections day and eschew negative practices that could affect the success of the exercise.

Nana Atakora Amanianpong, Krontihene of Donkro Nkwanta, advised the youth not to destroy posters of political parties to promote peace and understanding in the area.

He also asked them to avoid taking hard drugs and alcoholic drinks, particularly on the day of the elections since that could influence their conduct.

Mr. Ansu Bediako, an opinion leader of Donkro-Nkwanta, called on the people to ensure free fair and peaceful elections.
