The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) is the party with demonstrable commitment to healing the social, economic and political grievances in the country.

“The CPP has engaged in a clean campaign devoid of attacks on political opponents,” Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the party’s Presidential candidate said at a rally in Jasikan in the Buem constituency.

He said the party’s issue-based campaigning is a practical demonstration of its ability to reach out to its opponents on all issues based on mutual respect and trust if voted into power.

Dr Nduom therefore urged voters to reflect on their living conditions as a barometer for determining which party and Presidential candidate deserved their mandate.

He urged voters in the Volta region to try the CPP just as they did the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in previous elections.

Mr Kwabena Osei-Boahene, CPP parliamentary candidate for Buem said the constituency needed a visionary leader like him to represent its people in parliament.

In a related development, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has called on students of the University of Ghana, Legon to vote massively for the party to guarantee their future and employment.

He told the students that when they gave the chance to the CPP, the party would transform the economy and create jobs for the benefit of all citizens instead of “a few well-connected people.”

Dr. Nduom made the call at a youth rally at Legon, where he introduced the Parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Mr William Dowokpor.

He urged the youth not to allow politicians to use them to destabilize the country because the future looked very bright for them, as the CPP geared up to win the ballot to bring to fruition its vision of empowering the youth to make the country prosperous.

“There is no place reserved for the New Patriotic Party, the National Democratic Congress or the CPP; As far as I know there is only one Ghana and we need a peaceful party, a unifying party like the CPP, that will create and give jobs to all Ghanaians without asking what party one belonged to, ” he said.

Mr Willam Dowopkor assured the students: “The days when able bodied young men and women who are willing to work but cannot find jobs will become a thing of the past.”

He proposed to set up in each of the five electoral areas in the constituency job centres when elected. The electoral areas are Legon, Okponglo, Dzorwulu, Abelenkpe, Airport and Roman Ridge.

Mr Dowokpor said the job centres would be a meeting point for prospective employers and employees who would be mutual beneficiaries of the centres.

He emphasized that while the job centres would save prospective employers the huge costs of advertising vacancies in the media, resident employees will save on transportation costs and the constituency as a whole will see less crime committed by unemployed youth.

He implored the youth to vote massively for the CPP for a better Ghana.
