The annual Beacon of Peace musical caravan which usually goes to the three northern regions to preach peace through music has taken a different dimension as the third edition of the musical concert is staying in Accra this year.

The programme was launched last Wednesday at the Kama Conference Center in Labone, Accra, where the organizers, Tarch House Production, a company which aims to promote art and culture from the three northern regions, announced that this year’s edition of the concert will be held live at the National Theatre on the 1st August.

Instead of sending musicians from Accra to the northern regions to perform as usual, Tarch House says it is bringing down the crème de la crème of Northern musicians for the show which promises to be bigger than before. It noted that the move was to unite northern musicians with their counterparts in the southern part of the country as well as provide a platform for the musicians to market themselves.

The concert is also set to prove to the whole world that the northern regions are not only noted for fighting but have some good things to offer Mother Ghana.

Accra-based popular musicians from the Northern Region who will be part of the Beacon of Peacemusical caravan are Sherif Ghale, Blakk Rasta, Abu Mohammed, Lord Wumpuni, Sherifatu Gunu, Abu Sadique and George Cliff among others. Hiplife trio, Runner will also be a part of the concert.

The night which is anticipated to be full of side attractions including Simpa dance from the Chief of Tamale would be use to officially launch Abu Sadique’s latest album.

The rate is a cool GH¢10. The Beacon of Peace concert is sponsored by Hafred Company Limited, Brooks Services, and Royal Nite Club.
