I will first congratulate Ghanaians for choosing John Evans Atta-Mills over of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2008 general elections. It is the best decision we could ever have made. I am sure Nana Addo himself agrees.

This write up should have been published, as we say in Ghana, “a long time ago” but for some reason you are now reading it. An article by one Nana Biakoye prompted me to finish this article up and have it posted. The article published on ghanaweb.com on Thursday, 29 October 2009 under the heading Prez Mills: A Man of His Word!!! tells me discerning people are watching and taking note of the actions of The President You Can Trust.

The President has demonstrated that he is capable of projecting and protecting the kind of personality that he showcased during the elections.

The President’s Personality

A 5-year old class one pupil knows the President is humble. He is compassionate and humanitarian by nature not by deceit. A case in point: when Dr Alfred Vanderpuije’s AMA guards “put the fear of the Lord” in Alhasan Esuhini and Cyrus De-Graft Johnson of Radio Gold and Joy fm respectively, by breaking their jaws, the President called them personally to apologize on behalf of his agents. He disarms his opponents by such show of compassion.

This is a President who has forfeited his per diem. Something his predecessor increased more 1000%, this the President says he would not take. The law Professor cum President of the Republic of Ghana rides in far fewer convoy of cars compared to what NPP’s 2008 flagbearer rode in during the campaign season, can you imagine? Even if you don’t see anything at all look at the he dresses: simple suits and African prints.

Not too long ago, the President personally called into Joy fm, to congratulate the Satellites when they beat Brazil. Which President ever does that? Some would not even grant local interviews, you know.

The President’s Corruption War

Corruption is a societal problem and would take time to effectively deal with it, however the President’s posture towards corruption is the most unfriendly we in the African continent have ever witness. From the precedence he set with Muntaka and M&J, you can sit in your armchair at your balcony and predict what the President would do should a case of corruption break out this very minute. What is more reassuring than this? Do you prefer “corruption started in the days of Adam” and “bring evidence”?

The President Teambuilding Skills

One key indicator of a good leader is the ability to deliver. The President has clearly demonstrated this rare quality. He has delegated ample power to the Vice President John Mahama making everybody see the obvious competence, capacity and capability of the Vice President. Unlike what pertained in the earlier episodes of the Fourth Republic, the President has achieved a lot through the efforts of the Vice President. Ghanaians will not forget the efforts of John Mahama in securing the release of a Ghanaian “pastor” from Libyan custody though the Vice President’s mission was to “beg” for oil. Not to mention his efforts in the Gambian Killings.

The President definitely understands how to galvanize the strengths and efforts of people to achieve tremendous results. That’s The President You Can Trust!

Recently…TOR

Some misguided people threaten to burn TOR. The President visits them the next day to discourage them from misconducting themselves and earning prison sentences. One over excited politically-motivated Youngman decides to insult the President. He still keeps his calm. He assures them of delivering crude oil. The next two days, his critics are silenced into oblivion: The President Has Delivered Crude Oil.

Professor JEA Mills is an exceptional President. He has enormous wisdom and great commitment to the economic development of the country. It’s imperative that we support him rather than pull him down.
