A 45-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Angmorteye is in the firm grips of the law for allegedly defiling a four-year-old child.

He has been remanded by the Odumase Krobo Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Asmah Akwasi Asiedu, to reappear later for sentencing.

According to the prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Isaac Teye Kwame, on June 27, this year at about 7.30p.m, Angmorteye, a native of Kodjonya, a suburb of OdumaseKrobo but who resides at Trayorm, a farming community near Nankesi in the Eastern Region, went to the complainant's house in the same vicinity with the intent to see a female tenant.

The prosecutor said the complainant after exchanging• greetings with the accused went out to buy food, leaving behind her three children.

When she returned, the prosecutor said, she could not find the victim, the youngest of the three. She became alarmed and started looking for her and later saw her coming out from a comer around the house.

According to the prosecutor, the mother demanded to know where she was coming from and the victim told her mother that Angmorteye invited her to come for some biscuits.

The prosecutor said the girl narrated how the accused put her on the ground after giving her the biscuit, removed her pant and inserted his manhood into her private part.

The complainant immediately went and confronted the accused but he denied committing the offence.

The case was reported to the police and a medical form was issued for the girl to be taken to the hospital. A medical report confirmed that the girl was defiled.

After thorough investigations, the accused was charged with the offence.
