Teenage girls have performed sex acts on bouncers in a bid to gain entry into a Liverpool nightspot, Merseyside Police have claimed.

Officers want to temporarily close Pink Bar, in Victoria Street, over claims it has been plagued with assaults, disorder and sexual offences.

Liverpool Council said it revoked the bar's licence at a meeting earlier. A final decision will be made in 28 days.

A spokesman from Pink Bar could not be reached for comment.

Police have compiled a dossier of evidence against the bar dating back to October 2008.

Child protection unit

Officers have catalogued assaults involving bottles and glasses, theft and incidents of violent disorder, many of which left the victims needing hospital treatment.

Door staff at the bar have been both the victims and the perpetrators of the attacks, the force claimed in its submission to the committee.

The report also claims there have been instances of girls who are under 18, and too young to go into the bar, performing sex acts on door staff to gain entry.

Officers said these incidents had been referred to the force's child protection unit.

Pink, a well-known gay friendly bar, received a warning from Merseyside Police in April.

Despite this, officers say they have since received reports of 10 more violent incidents in connection with the club.
