Members of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in Kumasi are demanding the prosecution of two persons suspected to be killers of the Ashanti regional Chairman of the association.

Mr Samuel Kwabena Ennin was shot by unknown assailants on February 9 last year while he was relaxing with friends at a spot in Kumasi.

Following the shooting, the Ashanti Regional police arrested two persons believed to be the killers. The two are Kwame Ayew, and Sheriff Kabore.

But a year after the arrest, the police are yet to prosecute them.

The GJA members in Kumasi are uncomfortable with the situation and are demanding the prosecution of the suspects. They are also asking to know the motive behind the killing.

According to Luv FM reporter, Sampson Lardi Ayenini, the journalists are threatening either a street protest or total news black out if steps were not taken to prosecute the suspects.

According to the journalists, police told the world that circumstantial evidence showed that the suspects were culpable for Ennin’s killing.
