Mr. Jonathan Tackie-Komme, MP for Odododiodioo, has urged Youth Organisers and Propaganda Secretaries, as the mouthpiece of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to be at the forefront of the election campaigns to ensure victory for the party in the December general election.

Mr Jonathan Tackie-Komme said this when he addressed separate meetings of the Youth Organisers and Propaganda Secretaries of the various branches of the NDC in the constituency in Accra.

He noted that as the foot-soldiers and activists of the party, they should be well informed about the achievements and programmes of the NDC, to be able to counteract and correct wrong impressions about it and to also attract more supporters and members for victory.

The MP charged them to use their youthful exuberance to embark on a major house-to-house and inter-personal campaign in their communities to enable Professor John Evans Atta Mills, Presidential Candidate of the NDC to form the next government and the party to also retain the constituency.

Mr Tackie-Komme, who is the NDC parliamentary candidate pointed out that even though the party did not have the incumbency and resources like its main opponent, “The NDC has a track record as a caring government because of our guiding principle as social Democrats with the well being of the people at heart”, he said.

Mr Daniel Okai, Constituency Chairman, charged them to strive to promote the image of the NDC to make the party more popular and attractive to the electorate to enable it to win both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

He urged them to take party education seriously to enable them to have answers to all “negative propaganda” against the NDC and to be able to defend the good name of the party at all times.

Mr Festus Bekoe, Constituency Vice Chairman, asked them to campaign on issues and said “The people are not ready to go forward with economic hardships”.

He advised them to avoid confrontation and to be abreast with the policies and programmes of the party to convince the people with facts and avoid the mistakes of the past.

The meetings were also addressed by Mr Dennis Addo Quaynor and Mr Teiko Tackie, Constituency Propaganda Secretary and Youth Organiser respectively and other executives.
