A farmer, Kwasi Odoi, who defrauded a female rice miller of GH¢70 after promising to supply her with rice, has been granted a GH¢1,000 bail with a surety by the Asamankese Circuit court.

Odoi, who pleaded guilty with explanation, would re-appear on November 17, this year.

Police Inspector Francis Cobbina, prosecuting, said the complainant, Hajia Zinabu Alhassan was a proprietor of a rice mill and resident at Kade whilst the accused was a farmer residing at Sinkyenu near Akyem Wenchi.

About two months ago, Odoi went to Kade and told Hajia Alhassan that he had some rice at his village. Odoi then took GH¢70 from her to supply the rice the following day.

The prosecutor said after collecting the money and some sacks to supply the rice, Odoi went and was never seen until in October this year where he was arrested.

Odoi was handed over to the police and was charged with the offence after investigations.
