An electrical fault, which affected the Cedi House building in Accra on Thursday morning, has derailed operations there.

Sources at the Cedi House told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the premises around 0840 am that the fault affected the ground through to the sixth floor of the building.

"For now, it is not clear whether or not the Stock Exchange, which is located on the sixth floor, has been affected," the source said. Customers of the Cedi House branch of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), who arrived there for business this morning, were being transported to nearby branches of the bank to transact their businesses.

Mr. Karl Agyekum, an employee of the ADB told the GNA that the Bank of Ghana, the landlords of the building would be notified about the problem for immediate action to address it.

This is the second time in less than five weeks that the Cedi House has been experiencing electrical fault. The first one resulted in a fire outbreak, which led to the suspension of operations for some days.
