Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan says Ghanaians must keep an eye on leadership to ensure that persons appointed to positions of authority are responsible and accountable.
“We need a stronger civil society; a civil society that that is active, that is robust; that will monitor the key issues,” he stressed.
The Mr Annan who is also Chair of the Africa Progress Panel at the ongoing World Economic Forum in South Africa said Ghana has to do a lot to improve upon governance and civil society activities.
He lauded Ghanaians for the level they demonstrated during the recent elections.
Mr Anna spoke to Joy FM’s Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah on the sidelines of the forum.
