Zain has made a cash donation and presented assorted Zain products to the chiefs and people of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area as part of its contribution to the celebration of this year’s Ngmayem festival.

This donation comes after the reconstruction and handing over of the Odumase Presby Junior High School along with a well stocked internet-connected computer laboratory, library, headmaster’s office, a staff lounge and modern toilet facilities.

At a short ceremony at the Konor’s palace in Odumase, Mr. David Afugani, the Southern Ghana Sales Manager, presented the items to Nene Sasraku, a Divisional Chief and the Planning Committee Chairman of this year’s festival.

Commenting on the gesture, David Afugani said this donation reiterates “Zain’s commitment to developing the culture of Ghana. We believe the culture of a people defines their past and determines their future. We will continuously support the development and sustainability of the culture of Ghana”.

Receiving the donation, the chairman of the planning committee, Nene Sasraku expressed his appreciation to Zain for its continued support of the Manya Krobo State adding that “even though we failed to formally inform Zain of the festival, this kind gesture would continue to remain a loud testimony to the company’s commitment to making the world a wonderful place for all”.

The donation was part of Zain’s CSR programme which adopts a grassroots approach
in developing education, health, arts and culture in Ghana.
