Prophet dares NPP

Barely three months into the December 2008 elections, finite mortals are taking a peek into the unseen world of spirituality and fathoming the mind of the Divine.

Most politicians, now admitting their finiteness, are therefore relying on God for answers - some through fasting and prayers and others through sacrifices to witchdoctors and other mediums.

A prophet, who claims to have predicted together with other prayer partners the advent to the Castle of General Kutu Acheampong, Rawlings I and II; as well as the Limann and Kufuor administrations, has predicted that his spiritual inclinations tell him victory is on the way for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the forthcoming December elections.

He also predicted turbulent days in the run up to the elections, asserting that the only thing that can stand in the way of victory for the NDC would be manipulation by the NPP in the upcoming elections.

I.K. Obeng, a former Provisional National Defence Council Secretary for Religious Affairs, who is now running a prayer ministry, said after immersing himself in days and days of fasting and prayers, he is convinced that God had ordained victory for an NDC administration.

Popularly called the Millennium Prophet, I.K. Obeng said: "I don't think there is anyone in Ghana today, who is aware of the politics of this nation from the days of Busia, Acheampong, through Rawlings, Limann and Kufuor, who would dare dismiss prophecies that have come through me or our prayer ministry."

According to Prophet Tugya, the Almighty God has a special place in the heart of the nation; and would do anything to ensure that he made Ghana the Star of Africa through the incoming administration. God, he continued, has not forgotten Ghana and would therefore bring his purposes to pass in spite of human attempts to scuttle the outcome of the December 2008 elections.

He claimed that shortly before the 2000 elections, he predicted by that same spirit to New Patriotic Party Presidential candidate, John Agyekum Kufuor, that God had ordained him to take over the nation as President of the State. Continuing, he said he affirmed the revelation to the NPP candidate in the strong rooms of the Electoral Commission where party chiefs were monitoring the results.

"I was specific in telling him at that material moment that victory would come his way but in a second round in which all the rest of the parties outside Government would go into an electoral alliance with him to over run the NDC in the titanic elections." "I made that prediction at the peril of my life; and all politicians of merit around at the time would confirm what I said," Prophet Tugya reiterated, adding that he was prepared to put his credibility on the line in making that prediction.

According to the Prophet, immediately President Kufuor was elected NPP Presidential candidate, he also went to his house to warn him that no single party could beat the NDC unless all the political parties united against the NDC for the electoral battle.

God wanted a united Ghana and an all-inclusive political administrative machinery that would rule and bring all Ghanaians under one umbrella in the fear of God.

That prophecy came to pass and Kufuor took over, he said.

'I won't say what would happen if my message goes unheeded by the appropriate authorities but I would only add that in 1972, I warned Acheampong that if he failed to hand over, himself and six other top military officers would be shot at a firing range," he told GO, when we queried what would happen if the prophecy failed or the appropriate authorities failed to take him serious, adding that "all I'm supposed to do is deliver a message from God."

He said when the news got to Acheampong, ordered their arrest. They were charged with sedition for having circulated materials to that effect.
In a matter of weeks, however, they were miraculously freed because the material we circulated were found to be spiritually beneficial and carried political truths.

He also state that in the case of Rawlings before ht 2000 elections, he persistently urged Rawlings to come clean on his mistakes and excesses and publicly apologise. God would then forgive him and heal the nation. God would also use that act of confession as political hub to unite the nation.
