The flag bearer of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) hunts for a running mate for the December polls and says among the persons shortlisted to complete his ticket is Joy FM’s Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.
Mr Dan Lartey told Morning Show host Oppong Nkrumah that his criteria for selection does not include an individual’s political affiliation, adding “I want the right person who would be able to do the work.”
Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah has created a niche for himself as the finest morning show host in the capital.
He holds a first degree in accounting from the University of Cape Coast. A short description of himself scooped from his blog, presents him as a person with a penchant for challenges and believes in the power of positive thinking.
Another line from him said “we often limit ourselves in our belief of what God can do with us.”
But if Kwadwo believes God can do a miracle with him on a political platform, then Mr Lartey is throwing him a big challenge.
Although Mr Lartey would not disclose the persons he has shortlisted for his running mate slot, he maintains restricting it to only members of his party defies the essence of democracy.
He said he would announce his vice presidential candidate as soon as he files his nomination.
“Immediately I buy my nomination, the running mate will be announced.”
The octogenarian politician said although Mr Oppong Nkrumah is on the GCPP list, the search is still on and the next person could be you.
