France-based defender John Mensah says he is keen on joining Galatasaray after the Turkish side made an offer to sign him.

Mensah, who plays for giants Lyon, attracted an offer from Galatasaray last week but the French club turned it down over the price offered for the player.

Galatasaray offered four million Euros for Mensah, three million short of the amount Lyon paid for the players services last season to sign him from rivals Rennes.

The Turks are expected to increase their offer to entice Lyon and even before that Mensah is willing to switch allegiance.

“I have always said footballers are like birds in flight, so you never know where you end up. If Lyon agree I should talk to them and the offer is good, you never know,” Mensah said.

Even though Mensah is keen on the move he is quick to point out that he could attain his top form at Lyon after his season was blighted by injuries.

Mensah struggled to hold down a first team place at Lyon but having fully recovered from the setbacks, he is also ready to give off his best.

“I don't think Lyon have seen the best of me as a defender. I got injured too many times and that really affected me. So I want to stay at the club and repay them for all the patience they have had for me up to date.”

“I am now fully recovered and feel in great shape which was reflected in the two Fifa World Cup qualifying games I played for Ghana recently. I am now really looking forward to next season.”
