Laryea Kingston has been told to stay on his feet throughout the season if he is to have an impact on Hearts' campaign.

The Ghanaian midfielder is a key man at Tynecastle and under consideration for the club's captaincy, but manager Laszlo Csaba says it is important first of all that he stays free from injury. He made 21 appearances for Hearts last season and 20 in the previous campaign as injuries took their toll.

“We can't have players who spend more time in the treatment table than playing football. It's not good enough to take the club forward.”

On Kingston, Csaba said: “Ability-wise he is one of the best players in the SPL, but that is when he is fit and his body is ready for 90 minutes. He has to work hard on this side of his game.”

Kingston has already said he is feeling in top shape for the coming campaign and is confident Hearts can challenge the traditional dominance of Celtic and Rangers in that League.
