Ishmael Addo's career has sunk to an all-time low after he was released by Indian side East Bengal after only one season.

The India club will not be keeping the three-time Ghanaian League top goalscorer after having him on their books for a year.

It represents another low in a career that showed so much promise in the late 90s. He scored goals for fun on his way to becoming the top scorer in Ghana and played a key part with five goals as Hearts of Oak were crowned African champions before playing for Ghana at the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations.

But his career has gone downhill since with stints in Israel, Greece and Cyprus all failing to bring the best out in him.
