In its hanker to raise the bar in the Glo premier league, Optimum Media Prime (OMP) has doubled its sponsorship package for the 2009/10 league season.

The sponsorship package ($6000,000), which is a huge improvement of last season's, qualifies OMP as the television rights owners, is intended to cushion the 16 participating teams.

According to officials of OMP, its doors are widely open to interested local television stations who want to telecast this season's Glo premier league.

The chairman of the Premier League Board (PLB) Mr. Welbeck Abra-Appiah has urged other local TV stations to approach the exclusive TV rights owners (OMP) to engage in negotiations for the rights to telecast the league.

OMP, who had already entered into agreement with Supersport to telecast some of the local league matches live, joined the league midway of last season's league. OMP has voted GH¢800,000 for the 2010/2011 to sum up for the total GH¢1,700,000 sponsorship package after an initial GH¢300,000 midway the 2008-2009 league.
